Method
 

Preparation Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  5. Fold in the raisins or currants, making sure they are evenly distributed.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
  7. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle or rectangle and cut into wedges or rounds.
  8. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
