Preparation Steps
- Warm your milk to about 110°F, combine with yeast and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a stand mixer, combine the frothy milk mixture with sugar, whole egg, egg yolk, and melted butter. Gradually mix in the flour and cinnamon.
- Knead the dough on medium speed for about 8 minutes until soft and slightly sticky. Shape into a ball.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Press into the butter.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and slice into 9-10 pieces. Place in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix frosting ingredients until smooth. Spread over warm rolls immediately after baking.
