Ingredients
  

For the Salmon Balls
  • 1 lb Fresh Salmon Skinless, boneless fillets
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Panko) Can swap with gluten-free crackers
  • 2 pieces Green Onions Chives can be a substitute
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Dill or basil can be alternatives
  • 2 cloves Garlic Freshly minced; can use garlic powder
  • 1 piece Egg Use flaxseed meal for vegan option
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard Yellow mustard can be a substitute
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Zest Lime zest can be used
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Adjust to suit your taste
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For frying; any cooking oil will work
For the Avocado Sauce
  • 1 piece Ripe Avocado Ensure it's nicely ripe
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt Sour cream or crème fraîche can be used
  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice Lemon juice can be used as a backup
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro Parsley can be a substitute

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking the salmon balls.
  2. Dice the fresh salmon fillets into small pieces or pulse in a food processor until coarsely chopped.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, green onions, parsley, garlic, egg, mustard, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  4. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized spheres, around 1 to 2 inches in diameter.
  5. For frying: Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook salmon balls for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  6. For baking: Arrange the balls on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  7. While cooking, prepare the avocado sauce by blending avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, and cilantro until smooth.
  8. Serve salmon balls warm with the creamy avocado sauce for dipping.
