Step-by-Step Instructions for Spicy Ground Beef and Potato Curry
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent and slightly golden.
  3. Mix in 2 minced garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger; sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Introduce 1 pound of ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook for about 7 minutes until browned.
  5. Stir in 2 diced tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and 1 tablespoon of garam masala. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add 2 cubed potatoes, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 cup of water. Stir and cover, cooking on low heat for 20 minutes.
