Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line muffin tins with colorful cupcake liners.
  2. Combine the chocolate cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water in a large mixing bowl. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-22 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Cream the softened butter until light and fluffy, add powdered sugar gradually, then mix in vanilla, salt, and heavy cream.
  6. Mix in green gel food coloring to achieve a vibrant green hue for the frosting.
  7. Pipe the frosting using a piping bag to create Christmas tree shapes on each cupcake.
  8. Press star sprinkles on top and scatter colorful sprinkles around for decoration.
