Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather your ingredients and equipment.
  2. Cream softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until combined.
  4. Mix in the mashed ripe bananas until fully incorporated.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl and gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the brown sugar until evenly distributed.
  7. Grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan and pour the batter in, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing.
