  • 1 cup Sour Cream Can substitute with cream cheese or heavy cream
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Vegetable broth for a meat-free option
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing
  • to taste Salt Essential seasoning
  • to taste Black Pepper Essential seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme Or Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Enhances flavor

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare the baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  2. Peel and dice the potatoes into ½-inch cubes. Chop onion and mince garlic.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet, add onion and garlic; sauté for 3-5 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  5. Pour in beef broth and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Combine diced potatoes with the beef mixture, also fold in sour cream and half of the cheddar cheese.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish, top with remaining cheddar cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
