  • 1 cup Cooked White Rice Use uncooked rice for better texture
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup Can substitute with cream of chicken
  • 1/2 cup Milk or Beef Broth Use milk for richness, broth for flavor
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Shredded, divided into two portions
  • 1 medium Onion Diced yellow or white onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced, fresh preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Smoked paprika for more flavor
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • optional Chopped Parsley For garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and diced onion for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk or beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over beef mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Stir in cooked rice and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the casserole dish and top with remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  9. Broil for 2 minutes for a crispy finish.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
